History
Montessori Sierra Madre was founded in September 1965 in San Pedro Garza García, N.L., México, by a group of visionary parents who believed in the importance of an educational model centered on respect for the child as an autonomous individual and on the development of each child’s full potential.
Over the years, the institution has evolved to remain at the forefront of education, becoming a private, autonomous, non-profit school officially incorporated into the Ministry of Education (SEP).
Since 1965, Montessori Sierra Madre has been a member of the American Montessori Society (AMS), earning its accreditation in 2008. It also maintains its affiliation with UNESCO and holds certification as a Green School from Desarrollo de la Cultura Ecológica, A.C. (FOMCEC), reaffirming its commitment to education for peace and care for the environment.
